hola, mis queridos.

i have to just say a thank you to all the prayers. i felt each one of them as my virus was only for one day.

last monday we went to a meeting with president in order to prepare for our kids. the whole stinking time i was shivering my butt of. i think everyone thought i was going crazy. i made it through the meeting and went straight to hermana raymond’s house with hermana bernards where i went straight for my bed and was out…yes, in my skirt and everything. thanks to all your prayers i made it through the night and felt so much better in the morning!

after getting all ready we went to president’s house and waited outside for president to call us in one by one to meet our kids! there was a ton of us! 11 hijas and like 20 hijos came this change! we recieved girls from the dominican republic, guatemala, el salvador, panama, texas (represent: keep austin weird), arizona, and utah! they are all super sweet! something that is pretty interesting is that a lot of gringas are training gringas and a lot of latinas are training latinas.
although, hermana hawkins and i are training latinas. my hija, HERMANA LOBOS, is from Santa Ana, El Salvador and she is the cutest and tiniest thing ever! but really. her waist is as big as my thigh. not even joking… noseriously. i would take a picture but i changed my mind on that one…..i have to admit that the lord really does have a sense of humor putting one of the tallest missionaries with THE smallest missionary. but hey, got to love it.

so it has been such a cute experience working with hermana lobos for her first week. she woke up at 3 to come to nicaragua and we went to our area, she unpacked, and we went straight to work. the first thing she said to me was: hermana, puede ayudarme quitar mi miedo de hablar? quiero hablar pero tengo pena. it was so cute. i felt like i was literally her mom comforting her and telling her that everything will be okay and that with practice she will get rid of being nervous while talking to people.
it seems kind of crazy that almost a year ago i was in my daughter’s shoes….being tired everyday and just plopping on the bed after planning and sleeping so deep that you don’t have any dreams. but oh how i love it! i just love missionary work and i am so grateful to my heavenly father for givning me the opportunity to train hermana lobos and honestly i have learned so much just from training her!

this week has really helped me to have more faith and trust in the Lord as i do my part. i new that if we wanted to have miracles we needed to put out trust in the lord and be obedient. well, Hermana Lobos and i succeeded at being obedient with exactitud! we new that if we were, the lord would bless us!
well, sunday is the day that determines how well your week went. well, we only had three families promised to go to church but we fell super good about these families. so as we passed by in the morning, one family didn’t answer the phone but we were not giving up! we new the lord would bless us. we had only family that was going to meet us at the panaderia in order to walk with us. many times when people tell you they will meet you at a place….they never show up but hermana carla, a single mom, showed up….without her kids. she left them at home! which was a bummer but she said next time she would! then our last family that was promised to come only the husband showed up, miguel! who is such a stud. he is like 70-something and met with the missionaries like 30 years ago but was never baptized. we met him by contacting his neighbors house and when they didn’t answer we contacted him as he was outside sitting in his recliner chair! he has come to church 2 times and just loves his. he has a feha bautismal on the 23 of this month! he just loves the church but he has a venta and his wife won’t shut it to come to church so we are working on that! but i know that they will be baptized!!
okay so at this moment we have parts of two families…..hermana lobos and i felt a little sad but just thought how we could do better to get a complete family in church the next week when all of the sudden a family walked in the church…a single mom and her two kids. supposively she is a member but we couldn`t find her papers. we had taught her son a little bit but he was always too busy and never came to church…although he attends institute every saturday! well, her 14 year old daughter told me she wants to be baptized this saturday. hahah. which is great but we have to teach her first! lolz.
i feel so blessed to be a missionary for the lord. seriously.
i have never felt the love of christ carry me so much in my life…well maybe a close tie.
i testify to each and everyone of you that Christ lives and loves us. all that he asks is that we put our trust and faith in him and he will deliver us and bless us. we are here to succeed. we are not here to fail! if we trust in the lord, he will lead us every step of the way!!

nicaragua is finally getting some rain! it has been overcast like all week which has been amazing…only wish there wasn`t so much humidity…but i love my nicaragua….humidity and all!!!

Firm in the Faith – Scott Krippayne

This is world is changing
Faster than we know
A battle is raging everywhere we go
But we’re committed to the fight
We have the courage
It’s burning in our hearts
We’re not afraid
Cause we know who we are
Sons and Daughters of a King
Who has promised us everything

We’ll follow His call
Wherever He is leading
We’ll stand strong together
For what we believe in
Hold tight to the truth
In the choices we make
Forever we’ll stay
Firm in the faith

A solid foundation
Could weather any storm
Our feet are steady
And our eyes are on the Lord
He’s our strength along this road
Our redeemer and our hope

We’ll follow His call
Wherever He is leading
We’ll stand strong together
For what we believe in
Hold tight to the truth
In the choices we make
Forever we’ll stay
Firm in the faith

Like all those before
we’re staying the course
Lead by conviction.
We will hold up his light
For the rest of our lives

We’ll follow His call
Wherever He is leading
We’ll stand strong together
For what we believe in
Hold tight to the truth
In the choices we make
Forever we’ll stay

We’ll follow His call
Wherever He is leading
We’ll stand strong together
For what we believe in
Hold tight to the truth
In the choices we make
Forever we’ll stay

We’ll always remain
Firm in the faith
Firm in the faith
Firm in the faith
Firm in the faith
